Kinja'd!!!

On Friday I posted asking for insight/experiences with a Honda Ruckus !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

I wen't to the local moto shop to purchase a Ruckus, which they had, but they also had 4 brand new Honda Grom's! I couldn't bring myself to buy the Ruckus when looking at it next to the Grom, so I left with nothing.

I told my fiance that I had left the shop brokenhearted, and she said "Then lets get the little moto! I'll get my MC license with you."

Less than 30 seconds went by from the time she sent that text to the time I was on the phone putting a deposit down on an 2015 yellow Grom. I'm picking it up Wednesday after work!

It's still too cold to ride, but I can definitely see myself whipping this thing around Wednesday night in all of my snowboarding gear!

Found her at my Nana's 89th birthday party lol (she was a waitress). Shes also so cool that she stuck around when I went out (unplanned) and bought an M3 while she was expecting an engagement ring. She did however get that ring only a few months after that.

One popped up one of my saved auto trader searches and I just went to look... You know how that goes...

Yup! I went for an oil change in my V6 Chrysler 300 and came home with a Challenger SRT8

I know exactly how that goes.

Nice!

If you don't mind sharing, what was the out the door price for the Grom?

That's great :) Was the M3 new or used?

MSRP was $3,200, there was a $300-$400 "delivery charge" after tax and tags it was just under $4000. I put 2k down thinking I would finance for a year or two, but they just up and did it for 60 months lol. So now my payments are $35/month! Obviously I plan to pay it off long before then, but it's weird that they would finance such a small amount over such a long term.

Used. She went to work one Saturday morning, then all in one day I sold my 2002 M3, traded my 2013 Jetta, and bought a 2008 M3 sedan.

Not bad, I ran into the same situation getting my Ninjette, took a lot of shopping around to find a dealer who wasn't marking up like that.

That is crazy financing, what's the interest rate? I know for a while some finance deals through motorcycle shops were basically putting the debt on a credit card with insane interest.

I prefer used too. They're usually better deals...but damn that's quick lol

3.99% lol, it's the weirdest loan I have ever seen. Possible factors include: The fact that I bought a house less than a month ago, also the day before I bought the bike I applied for and received a 0% credit card with a high balance for projects/emergencies on said house. I was actually shocked that I even qualified for financing with all of that.

Had I been offered a loony interest rate (and I was pretty sure that I was going to offered a shitty rate) I would have just bought the bike on the 0% card.

Do they let you pay the loan back early? I'd heard they are offering loans now where you aren't allowed to and at 4% that would suck.

That is a good question, I now remember someone saying something similar. I haven't signed anything yet (I do all of that when I pick it up on Wednesday). If there is a penalty for paying early I won't be taking the loan from Honda.

Just spoke with the dealer. There is not an early payoff penalty...whew.

Good choice. I've got a Grom that I use at work. It's a fun little bike for sure.

I bought mine a little over a year ago and did a first ride in 25° F weather. As long as the roads aren't covered in ice, it's not too cold to ride :)

Actually, that ride was too cold. It sucked mightily. I just wanted to ride my new toy.
